Today, in Ukraine, prisoners are the most vulnerable social group.

Дмитрий Краснобаев's picture

Today, in Ukraine, prisoners are the most vulnerable social group.
They have no rights.
No provisions.
They are not given clothing or footwear.
They are not provided with hygiene products or basic necessities.
They do not receive qualified legal assistance.
Medical care is provided only in life-threatening situations, and only to relieve acute conditions—and even then, not always.

If they work, they are exploited, receiving only meager pennies in their prison accounts.
And finally, after serving their sentence, they are released into nowhere—without housing, without work, completely disoriented, and without any clear prospects or ideas on how to move forward.
This inevitably leads them back to prison...

The charitable organization Odigitria Charity Fund is doing everything it can, despite having no systematic funding. For the fourteenth year, it has been trying to break this vicious cycle, to give people a chance to start living a normal life in a society that has rejected them and wants nothing to do with them.

But that’s not how it works: a former prisoner—no matter how many times they are incarcerated—eventually returns to our cities, our streets, among our loved ones, our children, our friends, and relatives. They return to us, hoping that we will help them…

For a believer, helping a prisoner is a commandment of God.
For a non-believer, it is simple common sense.

I sincerely hope for your support.
I believe that common sense and the innate human desire to do good will prevail!
